Heat of Battle helping Mappers

Over at www.heatofbattle.net we have a team of consisting of 20 map testers and we would be delighted to help mappers to play test their new maps.

The offer of play testing is open to all mappers supporting the "Domination" game type. The map would be uploaded to a passworded server and of course, the mapper would join us in the play testing, which usually occurs on Saturdays and Sundays at a convenient time. It will also provide successful maps with upto 100mb mirror for downloads.

By joining us on the server and in team speak, you will hear first hand the comments being made and suggestions on the positioning of flags/capture zones. There will be plenty of constructive criticism as well as the plaudits for well made maps (mp_doomed is a fine example.)

Play testing in this manner will save you from having to continually release new versions of the map and hopefully get you straight to a clean release, removing the myriad of maps at different stages of release.

The best maps will make it into an "official" Heat of Battle map pack sometime in the future.

This also includes WWII maps, as they are also going to be needed by Heat of Battle in due course.

BB1
